Inspiration can come in many different forms, at any time, and any place.  For me, most of my inspiration stems from books, my mother, and God.

Books changed my life in more ways than one.  I can honestly say that I would not be the person that I am today if I did not love reading.  Books give me a temporary escape from the trials and tribulations of everyday life, while teaching me lessons that I could use for the rest of my life.  In typical “Potterhead” fashion, the Harry Potter series taught me more than I thought it would.  It taught me to never give up, to fight for what I believe in, and the value of true friendships.  I could go on with all the books that I've read and how they have impacted my life, but would take too long.

My mother is one of my most important people in my life. Not just because she gave birth to me, but because she is one of the strongest people I know.  She has done everything she can to deal with the family issues so that my brother and I could finish school.  She struggles with her health problems to still put us first, even when she really needs to put herself first.  Without my mom nagging me and pushing me along the way, I would not have done so well in school, I would not have received a scholarship for college, and I definitely would not have the confidence to keep working towards my goals. My mother is my #1 supporter and motivator.

God. I am not going to go off on a religious speech, but I do believe in God.  I am Hindu and proud.  I believe that Bhagwan (AKA God) has a plan for me. I believe everything that happens is all part of Bhagwan’s big plan for me. As impractical as it seems, it is actually a bit comforting for me to believe that someone else is looking out for me.
